Legends & Fairy Tales with “hettarher” & Jákup Veyhe

Legends & Fairy Tales with “hettarher” & Jákup Veyhe

“We lead children and childlike souls into a dreamlike fairy-tale world, where it feels as if they are in the middle of a movie,” says Jákup Veyhe, who together with the music group “hettarher” will bring stories from our ancestors back to life in a new form.

The audience opens their ears and uses their imagination to travel 100 years back in time — into a fairy-tale world where many mystical beings once lived in the Faroe Islands.

In the year 1898, the well-known scientist Dr. Jakobsen traveled around the islands and wrote down legends and fairy tales told to him by local storytellers.

Using this material, Jákup Veyhe and “hettarher” portray life in the Faroe Islands in earlier times and connect it to our present-day society. Through the use of light, sound, and space, they create a sensory experience where you, as a viewer, feel as though you are in the middle of a fairy tale.

When: February 7 at 4:00 PM and February 8 at 3:00 PM
Where: Perlan
Duration: approx. one hour

Language: Faroese
Age limit: none, but the performance takes place in a dark room and some of the legends may be a bit scary
Tickets: Adults 175 DKK, Children 85 DKK
