Huldulitt: Stories from the Cemetery

kr. 50,00

Join us on a fascinating journey back in time as Óli Jacobsen tells stories of the lives of the people buried here. You’ll hear stories of both well-known and lesser-known Faroese figures.

Among them is the remarkable story of Daniel Joab Danielsen, known as Dollin — believed to be the only Faroese person who can be said to have played a role in world history. Through his photographs and firsthand accounts from the Congo, he helped spark an international human rights movement that ultimately led to King Leopold II being forced to relinquish his brutal regime.

The stories are based on the extensive research carried out by Óli Jacobsen, uncovering the lives of those buried in the old cemetery. The results of this work can also be found in his book, Hendur, ið sleptu ( Hands That Let Go.)
